If you're left hungry for more PA type movies, this isn't bad.

I started watching this movie out of sheer boredom expecting this to be garbage but it was actually more entertaining than a majority of bad movies they have on Netflix.

People that immediately write this movie off and flame this production are really setting your hopes WAY too high. It's not meant to be better than Paranormal Activity - it's a mockbuster; films that ride off of bigger films success.

For what it is, it's not too bad.

It's a 'found footage' type of supernatural horror movie involving a demon, and that's scary! I haven't seen one that isn't scary. A lot of them don't make sense, but they still are scary, especially this one. The best part was night 7, and the demon was pounding on the walls and ceiling, and woke everyone up. Then they wander into the hallway, and the demon pounds on the ceiling. They run into the living room, and the demon slams the cabinet door. Then they see the tv turn on by itself, and the footprints on the ceiling. SCARY! I can only imagine someone just totally freaking out at such a scene. They did scream a lot and it was the best part of the movie. Te second scariest part was when he attached the bells to the fishing line and they started to ring.

I agree with the OP: this is MEANT to be a mockumentary. Its not trying to reinvent the genre its supposed to be similar!
I liked this film a lot, it had a lot more 'activity' than "PA" did.
The ending was very poor however, I was surprised. I wonder why endings are so difficult for so many filmmakers?

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

i saw all 4 PA movies so far
the first one was very effective and did what it was supposed to do
scare us, no more, no less
so i really enjoyed that movie

the sequells where crap and no more scary than a simpsons treehouse of horror episode, in PA 2 they had some interesting ideas but most of the film takes place in daytime, which sucks

PA3 is supposed to be recorded on VHS but clearly was recorded on HD
that alone makes it unrealistic crap

PA4 was a step in the right direction, but not very effective,

as for "entity" that movie was allmost as effective as PA1 and should be labelled as the only true sequel (perhaps along with PA4)
otherwise i hate asylum films, but this one worked well, they didnt need any budget or a whole lot of talent for this one, it worked anyway
