SO many problems and SO NOT as good as Activity

First of all, in the beginning when thomas called the police he said
'They killed my sister and my mother.' but at the end the afterward said that the mother killed herself after learning of her childrens deaths. So which is it? Also, at the end with the
writing it spelled 'related' realted. How do you not notice mistakes like that?
Can someone please tell me?

Good point. An obvious error.

I was actually going to come on here and post about the spelling error, which was hilarious when I saw it. "It is the opinion of those closely realted to the Finley family..." haha.

Also, I don't care what anyone says, the fact that Samantha was covered in blood one second and then only had a cut on her chest the next was a goof. Another thing I wondered is why her brother was completely silent after he put the camera down? First he's yelling her name, then he puts the camera down and is totally quiet. It sounded like she was choking, and he says nothing? Then picks up the camera and shows her dead face, but again doesn't say a thing. Totally unrealistic.

I just noticed that tonight, and wondered about it! But what a huge goof! Don't people watch the film once its done??
As for the 'it killed my mother' I tend to think that wasn't a goof. Someone up here mentioned that they thought it could have been hysteria on the part of Thomas. Since his mother came so close to killing herself, and her spirit was likely 'dead'.

That said, I do not think Thomas saying nothing was a goof at all. Watching that scene, I took it instantly to mean that Thomas was possessed finally by the demon (the mother & sister already had been earlier) and made him kill his sister.

What a piece of crap this was.

Ever used a camera before? Even for a while? Notice how the battery goes down when you use it? Guess what, you can plug it in to recharge it AND record at the same time. How about plugging those cameras that are stationary to a wall socket and have 8 hours of filming available when the power goes out. Also, playing with the zoom doesn't help at all, after a while you learn not to *beep* touch it. You can't see *beep* when you're moving and zooming at the same time. Even kids realize that after the first time they use a camcorder. Most kids (and some adults) also realize that you can record with the side-lcd screen. So you don't need to look like an idiot trying on a monocle every time you film something. Sadly this seems to be filmed entirely using the "eye-piece" of the camcorder, which means our "hero" can't see *beep* and spends ages in the attic just looking around.

A camera needs LIGHT in order to record properly. Are flashlights really that expensive in the US that nobody can afford to buy them? All dark movies filmed by hand use the camcorder's own light, nobody has the half of a braincell required to use a flashlight. Oh, and when you record on a camera, it has an indicator light on it. Just turning your camcorder(s) on doesn't make them record anything. You see the indicator lights in the first shots of the movie, but not when he's setting them up before the Home Alone -style traps on the ground in the doorways for the boogeyman that WALKS ON THE F'N CEILING.

Also if you're planning on making your own PA/PE movie, when the power goes out, don't film motion detectors or light switches that have an indicator light on them showing where they are. That clearly shows the power isn't out.

There's more, but why bother. Idiots are gonna vote 5+ on this and there's 308,745,538 of them according to wikipedia. So good luck for the rest of you voting this bitch down.

Captain, I'm detecting large quantities of WIN in this sector.

That annoyed me throughout, plus the fact the phones still worked, as did the TV and presumably the empty fridge because nobody complained about the food going off.

And why do demons only come out at night, huh?

And if you're going to go into a loft with a camcorder with a light, why not spin it round the space first so you can see what's up there?

And... oh, I can't be beeping bothered!

...it's just another dumb film, get over it.

The TV & the phones did not work when the power was out...it was the demon 'turning' them on to torment them.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

reply

Of course, a tech savvy entity. That answers everything. So, why didn't it permanently turn off the camcorder so it's activities couldn't be exposed to the police/public? Ah, then we'd have no film to show to gullible movie-goers ...
