Fantastic!
Just saw 'The Outcast' which was wonderful, a great story and with a cast of high class, super talented actors. And George MacKay was fantastic as a very troubled young man. He has a great future ahead on stage, TV and film and he has done quite a huge amount already. As Lewis he was, by turns, spectacularly honest in portrayal of shock and traumatised by horrific experience and later earnest in search of redemption.
The role (and George) reminded me of Boy A, another great British favourite of mine. You could say I like raw drama, perhaps because it all too frequently mirrors real life. And I think the truth is that happy, always blissful lives are deathly dull and create dreary people without 'edge', not always of course, but quite often!
So 7.5 out of 10? Perhaps Sadie Jones's fine work has themes too painful for most to contemplate, personally I thought it was amazing and ultimately magnificent and concluded with hope, that most reassuring of possibilities.
Well done everyone concerned- if the tories ruin the BBC and the NHS as they seem to want to do, they will ruin Britain forever.
