Why not Drag-u-late MEN?

i think this show kinda has potential but is just OFF in a couple of areas. (i hate the fake "don't take these shoes/ don't take that hat" fights between the Drag-u-ates)

but i think the thing they could do is to bring in MEN, or even younger guys. Women aren't the only ones who have self esteem issues, and it's LOGO and they know that younger gay men suffer from insecurity and depression (not all, but a good number). Drag U could be a way for them to gain some confidence in themselves.

I'm just curious why they've never tried that.

I don't think Drag U would be the best place to instill confidence in gay men. Especially if you were to transform them into drag queens. It works with women, because they can play up or rebel against the femininity of a drag queen.

If anything gay men suffer from expectations of 'masculinity' and being stereotyped as feminine. That if they were to be dressed up as drag queens, it would only reinforce a stereotype of gay men.

I wouldn't mind it if they had guys who aspired to be a drag queens but don't have anyone to support them or show them the ropes. So have Raven, etc... act as Drag Mothers. Or even get old tired drag queens and give them a boost of confidence. But that's the only situation where I can see men being involved.

I would love to see that. I have a male friend who is struggling with gender identity at the most, and wants to be a drag queen at the very least, and would probably be very eager to be dragged up and in an accepting environment, etc.

It would be therapeutic on an entirely different level for the male contestants, who probably repressed that part of their personality. It would be nice to see them finally let it out!

Because then it would defeat the purpose of drag queens helping "real women" or "biological women unleash their inner diva" - its in the intro of the show, take a look next time

This show... would be a thousand times more watchable to me if it were about teaching new young wannabes how to be queens. They don't have to be looking for self confidence or whatever (like anyone's going to get a life changing amount of confidence by spending one day on the Drag U set), but instead trying to break into the drag community.

This show needs an overhaul in my opinion.

^^ Word! I had thought about the show helping drag queens who are just starting out. It doesn't necessarily have to be about bolstering up someone's confidence all the time, it can be also be about teaching somebody to serve fish.
