This is not that bad... all things considered

Yes, the budget was horrible, the dialog was sometimes atrocious, and the special effects.. well, that goes back to the budget I'm sure.
I know we all like to come on the boards and bash movies with the "I could have done better" attitude, but something about this film was just plain fun.
The IDEAS in the film are good, although the second story was pretty predictable. The wraparound was good, and while the production was obviously, well, budgeted, it's far from 'unwatchable'.
Of course, I remember the 70s and 80s well when there were Hollywood Blockbusters and then there was everything else. This film reminds me of a lot of the low budget fun movies of the 80s. It's a shame most people watching film today are too spoiled by over the top, infinite budget special effects to enjoy some good old fashioned storytelling.
