Ashley

Ashley seems to think that working in the kennels is beneath her. It's not about her now and never will be, it's about the dogs as it has been and shall always be. She needs to get over herself. She is becoming a giant selfish pain in the ass. Maybe Shorty would be better off replacing her majesty

i dont know whats going on with her, but shes pissing me off. she treats ron and seb like s**t, complains about the kennel, and doesnt quite understand that shes NOT the boss! shorty is! if she doesnt like it, then she should work someplace else!! now shes going on a rescue, and is doing nothing but whinning!!!! makes me nuts!

Finally somebody feels like I do. Straighten up or get the hell out.

No one seems to remember that Ashley has some rather significant disabilities that actually make going on rescues quite dangerous for her.

1) Her hands have no sense of feeling in then, a result of a tumour surgery when she was a child. So she cannot hold onto a powerful dog pulling on a leash...or does no one remember the episode where she was sent out to walk an untrained rescue. If her mother hadn't been along on that walk, the dog would have either pulled free, or dragged her down the street.

2) Ashley has a great deal of trouble simply walking, something brought up many times in the shows. Again, a disability that would prevent her from moving quickly at a rescue.

3) She is the smallest one there in the office. The men have a hard enough time dealing with the dogs as it is-what does Shorty expect her to do, given her disabilities?

I don't understand how Shorty can be so blind to the very real danger he places Ashley in every time he forces her to interact with untrained dogs and on rescues. He has absolutely no consideration for anyone who works for him. He completely forgets that his employees came to to work at a talent agency for little people, not a dog rescue that he has turned Shortywood into. At first, in the shows, it was made clear that the company was there to help LPs find jobs in the entertainment world, and the dog rescues were a sideline. No longer...as the new ad says, "Its not about Pit Bulls, its about a foulmouthed ex-con.." I don't buy the last bit "with a big heart". He cares only for himself, the attention he gets from the show, and nothing at all for the people around him.

Thank you! Exactly.

I am surprised she has hung in there as long as she has. I love Shorty and admire what he and his crew do for the dogs, be he expects way too much of them.

and i also agree with tek and mom. i know ashley has physical limitations, and shes right, i dont think its in her orginal job description that she work in a kennel, and go on rescues. however. lately i think shes been on a power trip. i dont know how long shorty was on his book tour, but i think her running the shop seriously inflated her head. i dont watch this show religiously, and i was shocked to see how she was behaving. but she does have a point. she stuck by shorty thru thick and thin, when ron and seb had their tantrums and left. someone said on another thread that this show is scripted anyway, so maybe this change doesnt really belong to her. but it would be very surprising if it did.

If you knew what you were talking about it would be one thing. For Shorty IT IS ALL ABOUT THE DOGS, Ashley can user her eyes DUMMY

Won't do Shorty much good if she gets hurt. Your attitude clearly shows you have no knowledge of what its like to be mobility impaired.

As for Shorty, I was quoting the new banner that Animal Planet themselves created. He needs to take a reality check, and straighten up his priorities. The wellbeing of those who work for him should come first-what kind of help can Ashley be if she tries to hold one of those frighted dogs, and gets dragged or knocked down? Sebastion can't hear Shorty yell for him, even in a garage. So what does his boss do when he learns about how hard Seb has been working,so he can be more effective on rescues? He throws him out the door. I guess he prefers to do without the most effective of his employees. Why doesn't he hire Candy fulltime?

I'm not surprised that he has so much trouble getting his rescues into no kill shelters-they need help placing the dogs, help with getting donations of food, meds, bedding and volunteers to care for the dogs. He is more involved in just the catching of the strays-more photogenic and exciting for people to watch. Animal Planet should run a PSA after each show, encouraging viewers to become active in helping their local no kill shelters...the poor pits in then often are in them for a year or longer.

I really would like to know where he is getting money to buy costumes, etc, since he clearly isn't working on his little people talent business any longer.

I like Shorty but he tends to fly off the handle without thinking things through. Ashley's been getting something of a big head but she's right about how their endeavors are flying off in different directions and things that need to be done aren't getting done properly. She should be able to manage the entertainment part of the job more without having to run off to do kennel work and dog rescues, otherwise the funding they need to help the dogs will not be there. Sebastian and Ronald should be able to focus more on the entertainment parts as well. They need more volunteer help with the kennel because it's starting to take over all their time. I think they should contact their county and see if it's possible to be put on a list for people who have to do community service. That and find other ways to drum up volunteers for the kennel. They just can't do it all. Geez, average sized people would have a hard time trying to do all they are doing.

Do ya love him Loretta?
Ah Ma I love im awful.
Oh God, you poor thing.

modern example of 'the geri jewel' effect!

same as Timmy and Jimmy from SOUTHPARK. you sorta feel OBLIGATED to laugh at their jokes because of their disability.....

at least Timmy and Jimmy are cartoons and funny on purpose. Ash is just sad.... S-A-D sad!!!
