this film is creepy

I don't care about Angela's motives, what I want to know is why Nev thought it was appropriate to stalk her. It's his behavior which I find disturbing.

What he did wasn't exactly stalking. He confronted her, big difference.

What we don't see (and this is filmmakers fault) was actually how invested Nev was with this fictional Angela. Whilst they do show glimpses of it, it is never truly shown. They interacted enough for Nev to have sexts with her without having physical confirmation of herself as a person.

Whilst some of his actions within the documentary are creepy (The whole stealing the mail, photoshopping himself onto pictures of Meg) the whole ruse by Angela is far more creepy but understandable by the end of the film due to the circumstances that have happened in her life.

The problem with Nev is that whilst it's a documentary, they don't flesh him out.

Why has he got this online relationship with this girl?
Was he lonely?
Was he terrible with women in real life?

He simply isn't fleshed out it's just. "oh he's attracted to some girl on the internet and they're in a sort of pseudo relationship but OG MKY GIJEHOODOODOD SHE'S NOT REAL!"

Whilst it's good, the documentary obviously relies on the SHOCK value to keep itself afloat rather then giving Nev any context.

Assuming the film is real, they probably just didn't have enough time, footage or both to flesh out their relationship. Also, it's hard for the audience to accept that it happened over months and months.

Now that is creepy! Especially once you find out who she really is! Just goes to show that you never know who you're talking to online!

He must have been super embarrassed by that!
