Watching now - Nev appears gay and incredibly insincere

As soon as this movie started, I was immediately wondering if I was watching the correct film. First off, Nev comes off as a complete homosexual. It's just hard to believe he is interested in a girl at all, regardless of online or in the real world.

Then everything he says and does seems like it's planned. The way he says a sentence makes it sound like it's a script. Even the way he smirks and smiles like he knows he's partially lying.

I'm not getting this film at all. It was advertised as being a true documentary but it comes across as extremely fake. I'm now about 30 minutes into it and I'm still getting that sense.

It's very annoying because I'm really into stories about catfishing and was hoping this would be a unique documentary taking place during the catfish process.

He is not gay, he is just and urban Jew from New York City. They are all like that. And they are frequently very articulate as well. I know plenty of people who are as well spoken as Nev, so while I do think the documentary is "fake", that is not a good justification as to why.
