I thought it was always advertised as a mockumentary... much like Paranormal Activity. That being said, I thought it was very well made and the performance of Angela at the end was amazing. The way that Nev broached the subject with her at the horse farm was extremely natural and her reaction was so real.

It isn't a mockumentary. It's a documentation of something REAL that is happening out there every day. I don't think Nev even tried to hide the fact that he was skeptical from the beginning - he obviously had a reason for switching the cameras on from the start.
