Crap! It's officially cancelled!

Sure, it lacked some fine tuning, but I loved the humour, Matt Perry, Alison Janney and Nate Torrence. Not so much Andrea Anders and James Lesure.

I liked that the setting was in an arena. It made for different and interesting story plots.

The ''theme song'' alone was reason enough to make me smile.

Oh, well...

Sad :(

I really hoped it would stay on. And Matthew Perry who was so lovely and enthusiastic on twitter about this one. I liked the show a lot, as the OP mentions the sports arena was a really interesting and unique set! Man do they make bad desicions to cancel everything new and fresh! A sitcom without the same old laughtrack but instead with clever and witty lines and with lots of small details that made it so funny and they cancel it :(

Yes, it seems that abc makes many bad decisions. I was just looking at their website and realized that I only watch a few shows on this network. With the cancellation of Mr. Sunshine and Brothers/Sisters, it seems I will rarely watch abc, maybe Housewives once in a while, but that's about it. I like DH, but with Law & Order CI back and airing at the same time - I haven't watched DH lately. I did like that Rookie Blue, but it never seems to be on. I do watch Grey's once in a while.

I saw a funny promo on abc tonight. It looked like a new show that is just like Off the Map. Didn't they just cancel that show? Ha ha - maybe a new name will help!

I think it was the right decision too. I didn't have a problem with the show, but it was just 'fine'. I laughed a little occasionally but nothing spectacular. I didn't care a great deal about the characters.

More than anything, the show just felt a little bit 'old fashioned' for me. Arrested Development especially, with its spiritual successor (of sorts) Modern Family, along with the new mockumentary style Office and Parks and Recreation are pushing comedy forward, but it didn't feel to me like Mr Sunshine was doing that.

Like people have mentioned, shows get better with progressive seasons (Seinfeld is the best example, I think Friends S1 was very good so idk what that's about) but I don't really see that much potential in MS. Maybe I'm wrong, but I guess the network execs agreed too.

Making a new signature so that "PersonalCheeses" is happy. xoxo

RIP Mr. Sunshine

It's funny that you describe it as "old fashioned," because that's exactly why I liked "Mr. Sunshine". It was trying to be "Three's Company" and not "Arrested Development" or any of the comedies on NBC like "The Office".

It shows you how tough it is for pilots. I mean, DAMN 9 episodes? Its not right! :(

Me too! I love the show and Matthew Perry's humour. He was my favourite on "Friends" and I was so happy when I heard of "Mr. Sunshine" and that he was involved with the creation and writing of the show. It meant that his wonderful sense of humour whould be the show and I was always looking forward to the next episode. I don't understand WHY it was cancelled! Damn ABC for robbing us of "Mr. Sunshine"!!! :(

They never even gave the show a chance. Half a season is not enough these days to capture significant ratings. It didn't help that it was barely promoted as well.

I'm SO sorry for Matthew Perry and the crew who lost their jobs :(
I'm sure he'll get there and will finally make a great show.

I can't help but think that it's why Perry went into rehab, as a ''proactive measure''.

"I’m making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and to continue my life in recovery. Please enjoy making fun of me on the world wide web.”

Addiction is a creapy little cancer, ain't it?
