Watching this just makes me miss Sudio 60 more

Seriously, it's nowhere near as funny, the dialogue is terrible at times, and it tried to be almost slapstick. It's lazy comedy.

Anyone else?

while it pales in comparison to studio 60, this comedy is enjoyable enough and has a few laugh outloud moments each episode

AGREE! on both comments, this does make me miss Studio 60 and its not as good as Studio 60 but it is pretty funny

I will never understand why S60 never made it. I've watched it from start to finish 3 times and its just great TV. Perry was awesome in it. I watch this show because of him. I enjoy it and will watch it as long as it airs, but wont miss it when gone. Be nice if it stuck around and found some legs, but I dont see it.

I like Perry a lot -- but to me, Studio 60 was pretty lame. The acting was wooden, and some of the situations were forced.
There were many issues: Overblown 'dramtic' moments that just didn't come off well, the always annoying Amanda Peet, the sparkless energy with that long haired Sarah and Perry's character, and that short black kid always playing the race card were just a few ways the show was a mess. I liked a lot of the dialogue, adding Mark McKinney was a great move, and the way they shot the Perry/Whitford walking conversations was great. It's like the supporting players were just waiting for what's her name to take off her shirt and give the grips a thrill and a 'little visitor'.

A parody of S60 with this tagline about sums it up:

"Finally - a show about a comedy that isn't funny"

This did make me think of S60 when I first saw it, it's got a few actors who appeared in it and instead of running a live TV show he's running a live events stadium.
I like S60 and have watched the series a few times and to me the downfall of the show was the relationship between Matt and Harriet. They seem to be trying to make out the reason they broke up was something to do with how Harriet's a devout Christian and MAtt's an Atheist but the more I watch it the more Harriet seems to be incredibly needy and egotistical and I couldn't for the life of me understand how she's meant to be a bigger star than DL Hughley

I love Studio 60 but I guess that's because I'm a HUGE Aaron Sorkin fan and I don't think he can make something I won't like. His style just suits me. I thought the story of Studio 60 wasn't much, but the dialogue was amazing in my opinion.

Saying the dialogue is terrible is a compliment. This show is once for the cancellation bear.

oh wow, the merits of Studio 60 have been debated over and over for years on end with most agreeing it was a show of failed potential.

Anyways, I think one thing Studio 60 did was set up the potential of Matthew Perry to be a great leading man and Mr Sunshine capitalized on it, so I think that's S60's contribution.

Matthew Perry's character here is a lot like his Studio 60 character so....

I don't think it's fair to compare the shows, because they are totally different animals. "Studio 60" was a drama about a television show, that happened to be comedy. "Studio 60" wasn't supposed to be funny. NBC promoted it poorly. "Mr Sunshine" is a sitcom that's not afraid to be an old fashioned sitcom. It's ancestor is "Three's Company," and it's not ashamed of that.

I really like both Allison Janney and Mathew Perry. I wanted to like this, but after the first episode I was pretty sure it wasn't going to make it. The humor just didn't cut it. I gave it a chance, watched the next 4 or 5 episodes, but it didn't get any better. I'm not one bit surprised it was canceled. I was pretty sure it was headed that way after the second episode.
