I say, more bachelor pad, less bachelor/bachelorette

Seriously, it's just a more interesting/entertaining show.

~I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong~

reply

Lol but we need the Bachelor/Bachelorette to get the contestants for Bachelor Pad. Otherwise it's just a Big Brother remake.

reply

Well, that wouldn't be a bad thing... Big Brother is a damn good show.

But yeah, without looking at the ratings, I'm willing to bet that the Bachelor/Bachelorette draws in a lot more viewers. As long as they air Bachelor Pad every summer, I'm good with that. I have other voting shows to turn to in the meantime.

reply

Agreed!!!!

But as tigerlilly mentioned we need those other shows to fill in the pad. Sure they can just get cold contestants like they did with the fans but i do think having known them before hand and the relationships between them makes it more interesting to watch. Also why they go with ex contestants for their bachelor/bachelorette.

Bachelor Pad is still the less talented sibling of those other shows. If there's one show I don't care about, it's the Bachelorette. I've maybe seen 1 or 2 of those shows the entire time it's been running. They should have a bachelor show during the fall though. I'd much rather watch the Bachelor than Dancing with the Stars which has gotten really stale by now.

First season of Bachelor Pad, I thought wow this really stinks.

But I watched the whole summer. It is a fantastic, phenomenal summer show, where all I want is to veg. I love it now, and I still think it's just awful.

It is like a big box of fresh vanilla cupcakes in a box on the kitchen table. I can say I'm going to ignore them, but I don't have a chance.

I like Bachelorette better than Bachelor, because a group of women trying for one guy is so skanky. They all act skanky too. A bunch of guys don't act that way.

I don't watch full season, every episode of either show though. The only ones I have seen all episodes were Deanna Pappas, Ali Fedetowsky, and Jake Pavelka.

I am a big Dancing With the Stars fan. The format is getting old, but watching those pros dance, that never disappoints.

Bachelor Pad is like that pint of Hagen Daz in the fridge. It's bad for you, might pack on an extra 20 pounds in places you don't want but yet you still feel like watching something dumb. You roll through the quality shows on the dial and go um I just want something stupid that I can snack to....and the drama kind of sucks you through. Guys don't like the Bachelorette because who would want to sit there watching 25 guys....it would take a real beauty like Emily Maynard to get them to sit through something like that. The Bachelor is a hit or miss, but they still go all out with the different exotic locales. I got burned out on Dancing with the Stars seasons ago because they take 20 minutes of material and stretch it out to 4 hours. Shows like Survivor are lean...Dancing with the stars with waste your time with pure nonsense till you get to the few minutes of entertainment.

reply

I like Dancing with the Stars. At the very least, Tom Bergeron is a great host and makes the "filler" a little more bearable. The absolute worst reality show for stretching things out is American Idol, hands down. You take out the commercials and the filler, and you've got MAYBE half an hour of watchable show. I can't watch it anymore. It's unbearable having to sit through all of that, and the talent is getting weaker and weaker each season.

reply

I don't watch American Idol--talent competitions are a waste of time in my opinion. I had to get rid of Dancing with the Stars because it's a space killer on your tivo. If they're going to force a decision like that then I'd opt for the shows that I must see. They should focus on the relationships behind the scenes with the dancers...the dancing and nothing else. All that other filler just aggravates the non-hardcore fans and that's why they've lost some audience as time went on. But, I think they need a Bachelor type show in the fall. I wish For Love or Money would come back...now that was a trashy fun show.

Good thing I'm Canadian ... first season of Bachelor Canada starts this fall! Woot woot! I don't have to go months without my Bachelor shows lol. That being said, I give it maybe two seasons before it's cancelled. Canadian equivalents of American shows just don't do as well :( Actually that might be an option if they run out of contestants on Bachelor Pad though. Instead of bringing in fans, bring in some of the rejects from Bachelor Canada to shake things up.

For Love or Money ... I remember that. That was a fun show. I saw the second season of it I think, where that chick who took the money in the first season came back and risked it to find love. Then the guy chose her and she split the money with him. It was kind of tough to watch though because I really didn't like her, but I liked a lot of the guys she had on there.

The other one I remember was that Simon Cowell-produced one where "America" voted for the winning suitor - I think it was called "Cupid." Lol that show was ridiculous. America kept that Austrian guy who the girl REALLY didn't want to be with right up until the final two lol. It was hilarious.

I thought For Love or Money was glossier more fun version of Bachelor Pad. The cast is better looking and the scheming is at an epic level. You would have enjoyed the first season. At one point the girls turned against the bachelor. In the Bachelor, the girls always slobber and grovel about how great the bachelor is, even if the Bachelor has given them no reason to. The girls in For Love or Money had their eyes open more. It put real stakes when the women realize that a million dollars is at stake. The third season presented the girl with a real dilemma because the bachelor was a real catch and she really liked him. That was back in the day when romance related reality shows were abundant: Joe Millionaire, Average Joe, Beauty and the Geek. Would love to see those come back. Wish they would re-air some of the past seasons of the Bachelor for those who missed some of the seasons.

reply

I feel for you guys who don't know your way around torrents. Not that I would know or anything... but there's all that reality crap on there that you can't find anywhere else.

reply

Yeah, aware of that, but terrified about viruses plus prefer to watch it on tv and not on a laptop.

reply

I know for a while Cosmo TV was airing former seasons of The Bachelor. I caught up on a couple that way, but I don't know if they do it anymore.

reply

These are shows that I wish they would reair: Next Joe Millionaire (2nd season); Bachelor (the Doctor's season) and For Love or Money.

Heck, why doesn't the Bachelor Producers acquire the rights to For Love or Money and have it be their spin off, the way Law & Order does. It's different enough where it wouldn't be the same and they're already casting these shows so they might have left over contestants and locations. Money does crazy things to people's behavior and that's why For Love or Money was so funny to watch. The claw really came out.

reply

Definitely need virus protection if you're gonna mess around with that. But my 'friend' just transfers the files to a flash drive and plugs it into his PS3 and watches it on his TV. And the quality is good... according to my friend.

Those things are notorious for root viruses where it gets into the system before you even start your computer and pretty much takes over. The only way to get rid of it is to wipe the computer and start fresh.
