Rock and Tatum were likable in their shared moments

It's too bad Tatum got himself written out early because I think there might have actually been more salvageable if he stayed on board. I thought there was much more chemistry between him and Rocky here than there was between him and Wayans in the first film. He seemed much more at ease in the part here too. As a lifelong Joe fan, I hated when he was cast as Duke for ROC but he wasn't the downfall of that movie. This movie had much more of what I would have wanted from a Joe movie though it still kind of tripped before crossing the finish line. I just feel it would have worked a little better if The Rock had someone to play off of throughout the movie like Channing, especially with the other surviving Joes being written as bland as they were.
