It isn't a crap movie or anything like that, it's just all over the place, it has action and everything, but the messy action scenes cloud the storyline, it was just one big mess, they never made it simple and basic.

They wanted to distance themselves from the first film, with a sort of loose reboot, but at the same time resolve the whole President Zartan cliffhanger from RISE OF COBRA. Additional re-shoots were made to include more of Channing Tatum, even though they originally set out to get rid of him. I'd say Duke's death was ambiguous, but I doubt Tatum has any intention of returning anyway. I'd much rather the lead character of G.I. JOE 3 be Duke's half-brother Falcon. It's just a shame they're waiting on Dwayne Johnson before moving ahead with production.

They made a mistake killing off Duke but if Tatum didn't want to come back they could had just recast the part.
