This movie has no zombie kills, i.e. head-shots. There's no weaponry except for a lead pipe, which fails to get utilized properly. I think just one 'infected' gets offed, and that was by falling out a window. This movie is extremely lacking if you are a fan of movies like Dawn of the Dead. I gave it a 3/10.
Plus....as said by others, the lead character is thoroughly unlikeable and pathetic.
The first time I watched this, I gave it a seven. It was a breath of fresh air compared to the other crap out there. There's a *lot* of crap out there masquerading as decent filmage. But tonight, I just couldn't get past how really stupid all the characters were, except the plumber kid, and how unlikeable they all were, again, except the plumber kid. The lead guy, I was hoping to God that he'd die so damned badly! I was cursing him by the end. That guy is *really* not likeable! I dropped it to a five.
I spell it as "likeable", too. Trust me, it's correct.
It's a zombie movie about average dullards trying to survive. No one has to be likeable in a zombie movie. IN any crisis, most people aren't going to be likeable especially a crisis where people are dying in front of them.
This movie was more about not getting killed than it was about killing zombies. That's why I liked it. It was different and the people were as stupid as people would be. Most people that don't believe in zombies or watch horror movies would behave the way they did. Most people aren't armed to the hilt with weaponry and wouldn't know how to properly use any makeshift weapon.
