5.6?

Doesn't this movie deserve more like 6.7? The movie was surprisingly good and I really don't get the hate. It was at least better than Jessabelle, The grudge etc.

I agree, it should be higher. There is some real crap out there getting higher scores. This was a fine film, though a bit simple. I guess it didn't have enough blood and guts, and sex for today's sophisticated viewers.

It's a terrible film.Full of hoary clichés, every turn is predictable, it's practically suspense-free. Which is about the worst you can say about a thriller. By the numbers film making at its worst, not saved by some decent performances. 3/10.

reply

3/10 sounds accurate enough.

I was enjoying it until it started to simply depend upon everyone being stupid to make the plot move along.

Fat girl hangs about the house after being startled by the girl locked in the basement. Seems legit. Not.

Cop investigates possibly dangerous kidnapper without first calling for backup. Yes, that's really likely.

And so on.

Once a film does that you stop suspending disbelief and don't give a toss about the characters anyway, on account of them deserving everything they get for being so stupid.

reply

Yeah, it's underrated movie.

There's something wrong with Esther.

reply

Nah like a 6.1 it's ok but not that great.

This movie looked like it should have gone straight to video; however, because Hollywood likes to suck up to Jennifer Lawrence, they put it in theaters. The first time I saw this movie, it was through On Demand.

It should probably have a 6.

5.6 is about right. It was a bad movie. Not upsettingly bad, but still very bad.

Oh.
