Were the family really that successful in passing off Ryan as a girl for so long?

Or did they simply not let anyone see him and just home school him?

Wouldn't a social worker need to come in eventually if they home schooled him? Wouldn't they see their cross dressing child? A 13 year old boy doesn't pass that easily.

Did they just assume they were a transgendered?



And what motivated the cop to cover this up? Was the cop in on it at all?

If the aunt and Ryan's time with her was fabricated then how did they really know it was the sister who killed them if a body was never found? Why wasn't the possibility of an abduction of her by someone else entertained rather this certainty that it was she who killed them?

Oh, and didn't the fake Carrie anne die? Who was the new "Carrie anne" toward the end?
