I think these boys are the most marketable of any of the contestants this year. They are young and so freaking cute! I was born in 1966 so I have enjoyed Jeff Gutt's performances and he has a great voice. There is just something kind of....creepy about him. He's 37 and hasn't made it yet - I think he's too old. I don't even like most country at all - I like some country ballads by Rascal Flatts and a few others. But I listen to 80's music all the time.

Anyway - one more thing - I've been bored here at work so I've been watching x-factor performances on youtube and the duet with Restless Road and Jeff Gutt - I think this was very unfair to have them duet together and sing a rock song - 80's rock song - which is Jeff's specialty. It would be like having Jeff sing "Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys" or something!!!

Just wanted to throw some thoughts out there!!

edit - I forgot about Josh Levi - he is very marketable.

I thought Restless Road's specialties were inability to harmonize while singing poorly and looking listless on stage. They are among the best I've ever seen at it. Their problem in terms of marketability is that viewers found out they weren't very talented from watching the show. The majority of untalented singers who get by on looks can do it because they didn't start out exposing their weaknesses to millions of viewers imo. Maybe they'll prove to be an exception, but I don't see it happening for them.

Yea and I feel like the guys in One Direction when put together has great chemistry together, but the Restless Road guys don't seem to gel with each other. That might be an issue.

At least they have being young on their side cause they can work on their vocals, plus country seems to be easier to get into. Jeff is just too old - he didn't have an answer when Simon asked why he thought he hadn't made it by now..........but you know really how many of these contestants on any of these shows have really made it besides a couple country singers from the voice and a few of american idol contestants from early seasons........I don't look for any of them to make it big. IMO if David Cook didn't make it then Jeff Gutt won't either. Whatever happened to David Cook I wonder.....

I love how people put "I wonder what happened to so and so" without checking their websites to see what they are doing. David is currently touring and working on his new album.

Really?? I love David Cook - I went to see him twice - his song "Permanent" holds a very special place in my heart. The first Mother's Day after my mom died my sister and I went out to eat at Applebee's and that song played - they hardly ever played that song and I took it as a good sign because the song is about his brother, Adam, who died of cancer like my mom did.

That's why I said if David Cook couldn't make it big then I don't see Jeff making it big. After "Leave a light on" became popular, I kept waiting for more of his songs from his album (which I purchased the day it came out) to get more air time, but it has been years since I've heard a song of his. Why is that??? I really don't get it because he has a great voice and great songs and great stage presence.....???

Oh yeah - Tate Stephens was his name right? I don't even remember what he looks like.
