It never worked because

1) It wasn't good. Format was dumb.
2) Simon's ego. He felt he was American Idol.
3) Idol is better and just gets better talent. Are we ever going to hear from one of these people (US contestents) again?
4) Too many of these shows.

What this show had for it was One Direction. And I think Simon was smarter as far as going after young hipper judges....unfortunately I don't think they knew talent as much as the Idol judges did.
