Fifth Harmony has a sponsorship deal with Barbie

For anyone that cares: Fifth Harmony just announced a deal with Barbie. They have a new promotional song (I guess the theme song for the brand? I'm not sure) called "Anything Is Possible" made for Barbie and will be getting Barbie dolls of themselves coming out soon.

So far, it sounds like these girls are doing pretty good since the show. Wasn't sure since the hype died down from their little EP. They are still expected to release their debut album this year too.

I think they deserve better but at least they are trying, keeping their name out there and are not giving up. That's something I've always admired about them even during their time on X-Factor.

You're acting like they're struggling when they're actually doing awesome at the moment. They tour with Demi Lovato in a week. They just finished a 13 city arena Jingle Ball tour with Miley, Robin Thicke, Jason Derulo, Selena, etc.

And they only have an EP of 6 songs out.

Barbie is huge. The fact that Barbie offered them this deal speaks volumes.

They've undoubtedly become the biggest success from the show and this Barbie deal will only make them blow up.

I see what you're trying to say but as CreamCheeze said they're doing pretty good compared to everyone else that's ever been on the show. I mean this isn't something small. This is Barbie we're talking about. Barbie is pretty damn big brand and not only are these girls sponsored by them now but they're doing their theme song and get their own doll line too. And besides they're pretty much going for that girly bubblegum pop style like the Spice Girls did than something more mature and sexual kind of like Destiny's Child.

@lilej2, actually while many of their fans supported their EP out of loyalty there was a huge backlash with the new sound. Many of their core base felt the bubblegum pop sound of songs like Me And My Girls as well as Miss Movin On didn't showcase the girls vocals and I'm not sure if it was the lukewarm reception to the EP or the massive disappointment expressed by their fans on twitter/YouTube/message boards but it has been confirmed that they have scrapped their old songs and are going in a more urban/R&B direction with the album.

One of the producers on the album(Young Berg)included snippets to 3 of the songs on his Instagram but has since taken them down and I will say that if it is any indication of the album to come then I am massively pleased. It sounds far closer to the amazing covers they've done than the EP.

I find that a little hard to believe since I never heard single negative criticism yet alone backlash for the EP's sound. Before their season of X-Factor was even over I already knew they were gonna have a bubblegum pop sound. It's the same sound One Direction has except less rock-ish.

They're definitely not scrapping the songs from the EP because they're still performing the entirely EP plus some of their popular covers at all of their gigs (it's their set list too on the Demi Lovato tour they're currently on).

So though I wouldn't doubt they'll have a different sound on their album, everything else doesn't sound true at all.

So just because YOU haven't heard any of the criticisms means it's not true, right? Respectfully, I am a huge fan of the girls as I believe they all posses phenomenal voices but a quick Google search will show you what I'm talking about. Just go on their Youtube pages for their songs and you'll see several comments by Harmonizers who have expressed the sentiment that the songs in their EP(with the exception of Who Are You) didn't showcase their vocals and their studio songs were far too overproduced and that the bubble gum pop sound wasn't what we were accustomed to them singing. Many fans supported out of loyalty but their was tons of disappointment expressed. Did you hear the outrage expressed among Harmonizers when the Barbie song was released? Why would I make this up?

As for the songs they are currently performing on their tour with Demi, well of course they have to use the songs from the EP. For starters the album isn't even halfway complete so it's not as if they can perform songs that they haven't even selected for the album yet. Secondly, even if they did have the songs mostly selected it would be a mistake to put them in rotation on the tour seeing as how by the time the album dropped later this year fans would probably be sick of the new music. It's kind of what happened with the EP. They toured with those songs for months before the EP dropped and many people had already tired of the songs.

Still don't believe me? Well hear it straight from the girls mouths:
Girls talking about making more mature music. Please note Normani says they're starting fresh. There are other interviews where they specifically go in depth about "scrapping the old stuff" but you can YouTube that on your own.

3 snippets from the tracks they worked on w/Young Berg, notice this music sounds significantly different from their EP
