Why cancel this show? CANCEL WHITNEY FIRST

I really love this show "Prime Suspect" . I like all the characters and the cases are great. I like the seriousness and the humor. I love how the cast gets on the assialants and gets their AZz's to confess . It is definitally worth the watch and the time. I am 26 and i really like it.

having said that WHITNEY

Is by far the worst show on TELEVISION right now. I actually have never hated a show more. I set my DVR to record The office , Whitney , Prime Suspect because that is the order and I love the office. I wanted to see what the new (2011) shows Whitney and Prime were like. I watched probably 3 Whitney episodes and i wish i could take those hours of my life back. I deleted it off my DVR because i don't want to be responsible for adding to Whitney's ratings. Its a shame they booted PRIME and left WHITNEY. I am very disappointed with NBC for this. You don't even have half a brain to see how stupid Whitney is. She isn't funny, she is skinny and ugly, and the other characters are flakes to.

NBC please re-consider putting Prime Suspect back on. Try a different night at a different time. IF not maybe prime suspect woudl be better suited on a channel like CI.

GET WHITNEY OFF THE AIR . The Big WIGS at NBC either don't watch it or have major issues if they think its worth a second of anybody's time. Plus i saw her on JAY LENO and i wanted to kill her even more!! LOL i am sorry i sort of turned the topic from how much i love prime to how much i hate whitney. Bottom line is Prime is creative and fun. Its not the most advanced writing in the world but its a good cop drama/comedy/action. Thanks for the episodes that i got to emjoy. GREat characters

PRIME U RULE !!! COME BACK

1. Whitney gets better ratings than Prime Suspect did. (and imo, is an absolutely hilarious show)
2. How the hell would Prime Suspect fit into a half hour time slot?!

What your missing about the original Prime Suspect is that the show ran for only a few episodes a season, sort of like two-part TV movies or a miniseries. One case dominated the plot and was resolved at the end.

This American version, though well-written and beautifully photographed has morphed into a "crime-of-the-week" format. With all the reruns of the Law & Order franchises, viewers can get their fill without trying to give Maria Bello a fair shot. And being set in New York will, no doubt, bring about an SVU comparison (though I wonder if producers should have tried a crossover with SVU to boost ratings).

Also, while the British original was timely (because, in 1991, London's police force was overwhelmingly chauvinist), using the same plot device in 2012 was kind of lame. Imagine a show set in 1970 about a black baseball player trying to make it through racism to succeed in the major leagues. That would have been about twenty years late.

The new Prime Suspect was inadvertently sabotaged from the start with a weak premise and a change of format. The show did nothing to make it stand out from the competition. And, sorry for her fans, Maria Bello was just not enough to create a large viewer base.

Interestingly enough, I always wonder what would have happened if the producers of Prime Suspect had hooked up with the producers of The Killing.

I am very sad this show was 86'd. It was one of the best new shows on. I agree with jifreeze, bring the show back. Take off the horrible sitcoms and singing shows America. Some of us don't have the "Jersey shore" "Mob housewives" "Dancing with the stars" mentality.

Thank you. Wholeheartedly agree.

Thank you. I mean I could only handle about 10 minutes of one episode of Whitney, and am actually unable to comprehend why ratings are higher for that show than for Prime Suspect. It was so friggin good.

I have just started watching this after watching all of Castle (which ps I loved) but this is amazing! It is gritty & realistic, more realistic than most cop shows out there and really maintained my interest all the way through the episodes, to the point that I instantly hated some characters and loved others, I've never gotten so into a show from the get go!

I'm now just sad that I only have half a season left to watch and then it'll be all over....

It appears that you have good taste and that's the problem.

This show is a copy of the U.K. show of the same name and the original can be seen on the ion channel.

TV today is instant gratification or nothing. Sound familiar?

It seems the mindless wonders are taking over the planet. In support of
this statement I submit the cancellations of TERRIERS, HARRY'S LAW & now Prime Suspect. Please note that the British version ran for many years and had award winning actors. The U.S. version was not as dry and lifeless as British TV shows are and maybe that's the problem too.

I can only say that you must shut your brain off and watch shows like the simpsons, family guy or any useless reality show (you pick it).

For now, you might try PERSON OF INTEREST. It's a good show (which means it will be cancelled) and has no gay or racial agenda to shove down your throat(witness every new comedy except mike & molly which only makes a million fat references).

Other than that - it's off to cable we go!

Network Boss says it was given the "prime Thursday" 10pm slot. But you can't spent $20 million promoting shows in case they bust.

And ...maybe we should have forgotten the hat... Helen Mirren played this role in the UK long running series.

If you promote it, they will come. This is especially true of classy, intelligent shows like this one.

PLEASE bring back Prime Suspect. What a great great show. You might want to actually advertise it. Crime shows books etc are my favorite but i had never heard of this show until I saw it on my Droid TV app. I downloaded all of them and went right through them. GREAT show love all the characters. PLEASE bring it back and actually advertise it this time or give it a better time slot. You have a hit on your hands but failed to let the public know about it.
