Flat chemistry: Tamsin Greig/Stephen Mangan

I find the physical chemistry between Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan nonbelievable and awkward -- to the point of actually being embarrassing -- seeing them grope or talk about sex (yuck!), or even proclaim romantic love--so unconvincing! And the scenes at the sex therapist with the talking vagina was excruciating.

Part of the "we are English" joke :)

I find them cute together.

Plus the two seasons of Green Wing

I quite like them & because of that, I was rooting for them to get back together in s2.

A rose is just a rose.

As was I. I find them charming, and I think they survived what they did because they were friends and not "just" romantic. They just seem to get one another and make a great team.

Love them together, been married 40 years and they remind me of a long time married couple.
They also starred together in Green Wing

reply

I like the two together; their chemistry clicks and their marriage is believable. I like them in their individual projects and like them together here. They are two sane heads in a in the muck and mire that is Hollywood.

reply

It's funny isn't it, because I love them together, they are so natural, like an actual couple, not a Hollywood couple.

I think their conversations are naturally flowing and body language is so relaxed and natural with each other, to me they seem so like a couple who are just meant for each other and rare on the tv.

reply

haha! I loved the sex therapist scene. I think the two of them are great together. And now that I know about Green Wing (and it's on Prime) I'll be watching that as well.

People have a tendency to project their own perceptions of someone's attractiveness onto the actors. You probably thought that Stephen Mangan couldn't possibly find Tamsin Greig attractive and therefore assumed they had no chemistry.

I personally think that she is appealing in her own way, especially when the show first started, so I do find their chemistry perfectly believable.

And I mean, that's aside from the fact that they are both really good actors who, you know, can act.
