Really interesting movie but it really could've been longer. The ending was unfulfilling to say the least

i assume he was injecting her with whatever counteracts the medicine she was properly receiving... she had some kidney infection...

So he didn't care if his Great Love died? Or he was just that bad a dr that he somehow thought she wouldn't?
He was simply replacing the antibiotics in her IV with saline solution.
