Looking forward to an explanation....

... when more people have seen this. Clearly, I'm being very thick, but just can't make sense of this film. I hope that someone will post a detailed explanation sometime. Ta in advance.

Movie doesn't make much sense....

From what I gather, there's a ghost that possessed everyone in that house to kill someone with an axe. It would have simply made more sense if the girl who killed Busey wouldn't have turned into a monster at that stage in teh story.

The end I believe was the ghost not allowing her to kill herself...although does it make sense, not really.

Lizzie Borden was really innocent. It was her mum that did the hacking. But she got blamed.

So her ghost made sure that everybody that lived in that same house (or the same movie lol) suffered her safe fate. She possessed them and hacked everybody apart.

At least that's what I got out of it.

When "she" came back at the end, that was really the ghost of Lizzie Borden, not the crazy but hot blond girl, who's mom also went nuts with the Lizzy Borden gene.

I thought it was pretty interesting that in this movie's universe, it's pretty normal to walk around carrying axes, sharpening them, etc.

Like when you wake up and there's a ghost standing at the foot of your bed with a doubled edged ax, you're like "hey, how's it going?"

Ta for the responses. I watched it again and it still didn't make any sense. Seems like it didn't make much sense to other people, too. So it has to merit a huge raspberry: awful, pointless film.

Now that I know this film isn't a biopic or deals in anything resembling the reality of what really went on...I won't mind NOT seeing it.

Reality is highly overrated anyway.

Nothing about this really makes sense. The movie doesn't take place in the Borden house, nor does it make any allusion to that fact, nor does any part of the movie say that Lizzie is related to Lizzie Borden. So, why would random people living in a random house become possessed by Lizzie Borden's ghost? The best I can figure is that some very lazy writers trying to break into the business wanted to take advantage of the Lizzie Borden legend, but couldn't be bothered to actually create a link in the story. It seems like the doll was the catalyst, but it was never actually said where the doll came from. Did someone in Lizzie's lineage live in the Borden house, become possessed, then pass the ghost on to the new house and its inhabitants? Was the doll supposed to have belonged to Borden, and then some poor suckers came to own it and curse everyone in the new house? I watched it three times, and there is not one link between either Lizzie and her family, or their house, to the Borden family or THEIR house. There were so many missed opportunities to create a coherent story that were completely missed. Of course, the rotten acting and scripting, as well as the horrible sound engineering, make it a moot point. If it weren't for Netflix and piracy websites, the movie would die off completely.
