This sucked ass (spoilers)

So this movie devolves into Mike running around hunting his two friends every day. Weak. And when he finds out its not a repeat day he goes and threatens Mike's sister! Why? This movie just made no sense.

This is really quite simple, subtext, subtext, subtext.

Anyone could explain to you what this movie was actually about but you clearly lack the ability. Someone like yourself would then most likely say, "But its not about anything at all, it just makes no sense" and i'd say case and point.

Go a read a book or two, maybe you'll learn something about storytelling and how it works.

There should be an IQ test for IMDB users, this site is getting ridiculous.

Wow, you started with personal attacks pretty quickly. Well you may not believe it, but I am a Harvard educated 40ish year old NYer and your comments about me not having read a book or knowing anything about storytelling is just kind of silly. Instead of just lashing out why don't you try to make a point people can react to.

I actually agree with this post. kvanvelz, why waste your time with a pointless post when you don't explain anything. I don't care if surf is really Harvard educated (really who gives a sh**), but kvanvelz, your response was not on topic and completely worthless.

Yeah sure, you went to Harvard. Anyone can claim that. lol

I agree about the part after he realizes its the next day. Any person who committed crimes like that would be on the run and scared to death. Not go over your best friends house and abduct his family lol. What was the point in doing that? None. That was bad writing. Other than that i liked the movie.

I've seen a lot of movies in my time good and bad. I know subtext and all that (hell I've written subtext) but I was never sure what the point of this movie was at all.

Apparently the Weeks character represented the whole nihilistic "nothing matter" viewpoint taken to the extreme because it's literally true when everything you do gets erased over and over again. The other two characters seem to go along with this for a bit (the girl most of all) but ultimately decided because Weeks rapes a fifteen year old (he says sixteen) that it does matter even if only they remember (because they will carry the memory with them even if no one else does) and it becomes a clash viewpoints.

However, the movie could have been a bit better at that because there are large spaces where it seems this message is a bit muddled with the rest of what's going on.

Now I'm not saying they had to hit us over the head with it (in fact that's just as bad if not worse) but the script could have used a another pass or so to reinforce the notion.

Also, it's kinda clear from the jump what they have to do to stop looping AND it's clear who is and who isn't going to make it and why.

Might have been more interesting if they turned it around a bit or did something different with it. Maybe have the girl turn on the other guy and join Weeks or have Weeks have a change of heart but the other guy loses it because of the stuff Weeks has already done or something to throw a twist in there. It felt so by the numbers.

I agree with kvanvelz-919-735373. Its not worth explaining to people who make inflammatory troll OP's like this just because they don't understand a movie. Harvard? And can't figure out a simple movie? Somehow I doubt that.

And its not lazy writing either nor that hard to figure out why he went to the sisters house. I'll just say the kid had problems to begin with. Not everyone acts exactly how you would expect in traumatic situations, especially impulsive drug addicts.

As for the how and why, maybe watch it again..? Or don't I don't care. Like kvanvelz-919-735373 said, why explain? So you can troll and say it all makes no sense? No thanks. Try paying attention next time. Everything is explained.

I guess a Harvard education doesn't get ya' what it used to. :)
