I don't care for this movie *spoilers*

Some of these situations were just too unbelievable. Were they supposed to be just so clever that no one ever called them out or ignored them thinking they were a couple of sickos? None of the people they encountered were smart enough to question their motives? Some of the things they were doing wouldn't work every time on everyone. I viewed them both as pathetic and empty people who must have nothing else going in their lives to waste so much time doing these things. This movie got real tiresome to me really fast. Imho, the things they were doing said more about them than than their victims.

you are dead on with your last statement. The movie was a statement about them and who they must be, the point isn't them victimizing unsuspecting people, that's what made the movie engrossing to me. The most telling and enlightening scene to me was when in the nursing home the man said, "What are you without your identity." Gerry's answer was FREE, the old man's answer was HOLLOW. This movie shows hollow people searching for a release from what we find out at the end is just the mind numbing ordinariness of a quiet desperation they've built for themselves. It's easy rider for the new millennium, it's all grown colder and more far removed from any expectation of happiness than that movie. I love these two actors and would like to see them in more. You didn't care for this movie but if anyone else should read this that did enjoy it the movie "The Comedy" is in a similar vein, it's a much heavier darker themed movie than the name suggests.

I'll check out "The Comedy"...it's description and "Silver Tongues" make me thing of "American Psycho"...twisted love letters to western wangst and cautionary tales against complacency. Lovin' it big time.
