wow, so many goofs ...

jessica is hit on the left side of her head but injured on the right.

the car stands on top of the water. THEN it starts sinking. i can almost understand the delay if they were sitting in mud, but it was just water.

how did christopher's cell phone ring after it got wet?

this might not be a goof, but i can't remember how sara got home from the club. didn't jessica take the keys with her? i can't imagine she left them in the car.

When he's looking through the photos the one when they're in front of the Hollywood sign it shows it from the angel we saw it, since it was her camera shouldn't it be from the front since she took it?

And wasn't it a film camera? so how could he have put it in his laptop, unless he got the film developed, scanned it the prints and saved them in his computer, but why would he go through all that trouble?

How come nobody notices "petunia" (her grandma's car) is missing? I think my whole family would've noticed if i went to the beach with my sister and came back with no car..

I think Disney should hire someone to specifically look for goofs in their movies, specially this one since it has so much.

(Sorry,i'm typing this while i'm watching with my sister now so i'm noticing small details lol)

cutest superbowl commercial :)

I. I don't understand what you're saying... but either they could have turned the camera... or someone could have taken a picture for them.

II. Most places will also give you a CD if you develop the film. And it could have been a digital camera... (They have disposable digital cameras).

III. They did notice it. Her grandmother comments at the end about how she was trying to get rid of it.

I didn't really notice any goofs...

But, eh.

reply

No goofs!? There were also a lot of plot holes.

I mean really. What happens after the sister ends up at Christopher's house!? She acts like NOTHING happened after that scene.

They never mentioned that Stubby was Christopher's driver until Jessica was yelling at him.

And how was the film saved after being in the mud that suddenly turned into water? I live in LA...and I don't think that's possible, ha ha

No goof here, Chris gave Stubby the keys to Petunia and instructed him to bring the sister home. Now how he would have known that her sister was the same girl who snatched him up earlier?

Yeah that scene wasn't clear. We're to assume that after she ran into Stubby again that they worked something out and he took her home. This was a goof.
They never mentioned that Stubby was Christopher's driver until Jessica was yelling at him.

That's because Stubby's not actually his driver. Chris/Stubby said that they agreed that since they were best friends (since 4th grade to be specific) Stubby could live with Chris, eat his food, and drive his cars. Jessica, being insensitive to Chris' lifestyle, takes a shot at him by saying "your best friend is your driver" sarcastically. Not a goof.

Overall there were plot holes, but some of the stuff being accused of being goofs are debatable.

Not saying there aren't any goofs... just saying I didn't notice that many.

Other than she NEVER gets in trouble... She complains about how she's going to get in trouble... but then she never does. At least... they never show it.

Mentioning Christopher's house... How in the heck does she know how to get there?/How does she get in there? (Assuming that she knows where he lives... because he's crazy.)

Stubby just got to use Christopher's cars, didn't he? Didn't they mention that in the beginning when they're sitting outside in front of the club?

The camera was probably in her bag... which meant that it got wet... but the film was OK because it was in the casing. It's like... you can drop your phone in water and it'll still work if you get it out quickly enough, because the water hasn't had time to seep through.

But yeah... Do agree about there being plot holes... just the characters in general had lots of plot holes.

The sister knew how to get to Christopher's house because she found his license in his car at the beach, which had his address on it :)

personally i was just angered by the fact that jessica never told her sister that she had spent the entire night with her favorite celebrity and he had even been in their garage. the least she could have done was brought her sister down to the garage and introduced her to him! if my sister hid something like that from me and i found out....id be a lot angrier than jessicas sister was, and thats putting it lightly :P and she didnt even really get to meet him at the end because she fainted and was dragged away. i felt so bad for that character

Maybe it's going to be in the DVD's deleted scenes.... :/

Don't disagree about there being goofs. It was ridiculous. However, in regards to the mud/water that became the grave of poor Petunia, I think it was supposed to be quicksand, hence the slow sinking before (GLOOP) Petunia was laid to rest.

However, to everything else I can only sigh. Oh Disney, what's happened to you?

A goof I caught was when Christopher drives his flashy blue car to take Jessica back to her grandmother's house, even though he was trying to lay low and could have driven his brother-in-law's crappy car for cover. I was also confused as to how they managed to get that car into the garage without the paparazzi noticing, even when the paps had been in their truck with a light searching for him. They drove right past the car in the driveway--wouldn't they have immediately stopped and waited for something to happen? It should have been impossible for Jessica and Christopher to sneak out and proceed to push the car into the garage without being noticed...unless those truly were the dumbest paparazzi ever or that neighborhood was full of really swanky cars that would have caused confusion.

That was the main goof that I caught. I didn't bother finishing the movie because Jessica was way too angry and I couldn't quite understand why. I usually am a sucker for these types of plotlines too, but I didn't have the patience to sit through this.

Also, when they were in Christipher's garage chatting before they go back to the Grandmother's, he opens the passenger door to the Gray car next to the blue one.

I'm pretty sure that was intentional. It shows that he wants to take the silver car but she gets into the blue one, thus rejecting his offer and showing that she's not going along with what he wants. He makes a remark about it afterward too.

I thought someone here would notice that Stubby is seen with clean shoes right after Jessica "throws up" on them.

I just wondered why they had to push his blue car into Jessica's grandmothers' garage. Would the paparazzi be ok with that, but swarm if they simply drove it?

-I didn't notice that one!

-Yeah, i thought that! he tries to drive it and its stuck it mud, then all of a sudden it begins to sink? wouldnt it sink if they were in it, considering more weight????

- True....and it was perfectly dry and clean

- Jessica didnt actually lock the car either....
I think Stubby had to drop her off or something , but how did they get the car? they really didnt thoroughly think through the car dropping scenes...

Also, how did he upload the images on his computer when he used a disposable camera and it wouldnt have come out in that quality as well....that just annoyed me

reply

Also, at the beginning when Christopher drops Jessica at home, how does she know how to get there, because they mentioned she hadn't been there for 2 years...you wouldnt exactly know how to get there.

- Her parents don't seem worried she goes off half the day and comes back home at random times

- When Christopher takes Jessica to his house, he leads her upstairs, wouldn't Jessica get a different idea and turn back, plus since he's randomly taking you to his house, practically kidnapping you.

- Christopher's parents purely didn't seem worried that their son was out all night and the next day didn't call and say where he was....

Plus, no one seemed at all suspicious of what Jessica was doing considering that she got the car drowned and I don't think she could drive and out without her sister for hours and hours didn't they ask her who was driving her or how it happened???? they didn't even care.

reply

This isn't really a goof, but in the scene where Jessica is changing for the dance, her sister says "Go change." And then 10 seconds later she comes back with a new outfit on (and finds out that her sisters' friends are talking about her).

Fail is all I can say.

I doubt that too.

One thing I noticed. When Stering sings a song among people in his house, his voice sounds fake I can felt it isn't his real voice.

reply

This probably isn't a goof but just bad writing … but I thought it was so strange that the syrup was stored in the garage. Maybe it would almost make sense if the garage were right next to the house, but no, it wasn't. The writers needed to have the sisters go out to the garage and it was unfortunate that they couldn't have come up with something more believable. So weird.
