Storyline and music was good but lead actress was terrible

I haven't really tuned into Disney channel shows since 2007ish.
But a few days ago, I was bored and decided to watch this on Netflix. After all, Sterling Knights a pretty good actor on 17 again and the show with Melissa Joan hart.

Anyways, while watching this, I discovered that the songs were pretty catchy for its type( teen heart throb type of movie). And Sterling( who's actually a year older than me in real life) is pretty cute.

But the main actress, Jessica, was unbearable and I never understood why she was so mean and bratty, and I don't understand what he saw in her. If it were me, I would've been turned off by her annoying attitude.
