The shotgun attachment

Hello

A smarter person than I can likely answer this question...

What does he attach to the barrel of the automatic shotgun?

Thanks

reply

It was a metal fixture with a divider of some sort I suppose to make the buckshot spread out more than it normally would have in a regular barrel or even a sawed off barrel.

Thanks for the reply. Since I posted the question I found out that it's called a "duckbill" (for obvious reasons) and was used in the... Vietnam war?... something to do with hitting moving targets in low visibility. Sounds like a pretty awesome idea, if not a little limited in application.

You're talking about the silver thing he hammered in? That was a noise suppressor.

thebigdipper got it right, it is not a suppressor, also FYI it was a semi auto shotgun. I have seen a full auto shotgun on one of the many TV gun shows but this appeared to be a semi.
After 4 weeks of driving my new Chevy Volt 590 miles I used 0.6 gallons of gas = 983 MPG

It is indeed a semi-auto shotgun, the Armsel Protecta or more commonly known as the "street sweeper", South African in origin.

For the final scene, Curtie chooses a SWD/Cobray Street Sweeper to clear Rajahdon’s brothel. He manufactures an unidentified duckbeak-shaped device and affixes it to the barrel. Apart from making the shotgun look like a vacuum cleaner this device seems to make the spray of the shotgun shells wider, allowing him to hit more targets in the confined hallways.
