Kevin Bacons accent

wow as soon as he started talking, i seriously thought is this whole movie dubbed

reply

Haha, his accent was terrible.

Versocchi :D

reply

It is so bad, I walked out on this movie within 10 minutes

reply

I guess Right-Wing-Man has never heard a British accent before if he thinks it is perfect! Simply hilarious.

reply

Why not just have his character as an American? Weird choice, the accent was funny haha.

reply

I stopped watching after 5 minutes of that accent. It ruined whatever chance the movie had for me.

reply

im from cambridgeshire.i thought Bacon was australian..but as he was repeatedly called "English" and later referred to himself as "the brit" i guess he was meant to be english.terrible english accent but at least it sounded consistent throughout the movie.

reply

Just an awful awful film. Does the director have pcitures of Kevin Bacon that he doesnt want getting out?

reply

Some Americans think that English actually means British. Perhaps it's the language name or something dumb.
Also British people tend not to call themselves "Brits" - an often hideously pronounce shortening in the USA - "So you're a Briiiiiiiiit are you!" *shudder*

reply

Cmon guys!! Its Kevin Bacon doing his best Jason Stathum impersonation!!

reply

hahah i tought it was decent enough since hes american, not to leave the cinema cause of that , anyways the movie seems lost at times djimon saves it and the message

reply

Umm, I lived in England for a little while, and people actually called themselves "Brits". I'm not American by the way. Also, if you're English you are British, it's the other way around that's not necessarily true.

"You can fire me, but bitch don't think you can take me."

reply

Yeah I was really confused trying to place it.

At first I thought it was Australian because it sounded a bit Paul Hogan, then at times it sounded a bit Ray Winstone... bizarre, yet funny.

reply

The entire film, I was telling my mother, he's Australian. He sounds completely Australian.

"You can fire me, but bitch don't think you can take me."

reply

No, he does not sound "completely" Australian.

reply

terrible english accent but at least it sounded consistent throughout the movie

Well, I guess you can say that about the accent—at least it was consistently bad.

reply

It sounded like a really bad dub to me. When I saw him in the club, the first scene I thought "Ok *beep* this is a dubbed movie" and, when I actually saw him later after he was stopped, I knew it was actually HIS voice, and stopped watching since it sounded like a bad voice actors dub.

reply

I refuse to believe that was his voice, it was a dub surely?

I switched it off after five minutes because of that.

reply

Sounds like a South African accent and his voice acting is not as bad as you all make out. The issue is that some South African accents are simply not that pleasant to listen to (compared to other accents).

reply

I'm only halfway through the movie and not really paying attention to it all that much, but all this time I thought he was trying to do an Aussie accent, is that not the case?

reply

i also thought it was meant to be a south african accent whilst i was watching the trailer...

however its entirely possible as with some people (i have heard this from americans especially) claiming to be english / brits when they are clearly like 10th generation people living in america / south africa / australia

or even thailand i guess...

reply

Sound like an english.sheep.shaggers accent from the north of england. Though a bit too thick for an English northern.monkey accent.

reply

It's over the top, and sounds absolutely nothing like anything I've ever heard before. Comedy accent lol

reply

You beat me to it, I logged on SPECIFICALLY to make a comment about his accent ha ha!!

Seemed more Australian than English to me!

reply

[deleted]

Yeah, Maybe a Dolph Lundgren ha ha!!

reply

I think he was trying to do a Michael Caine to be honest haha
