Better than James Cameron's Avatar

I know sheeple fan boys will blaze me for this, but I believe that the creativity, talent, and dedication that went into this is better than that "dances with smurfs" ripoff ever could be. No this movie doesn't have million dollar CG,but it does have something that Mr. Cameron missed ....performance. I've seen Avatar once, but it was so predictable I missed 30 minutes of the middle, but I could tell what I missed. Snowblind kept me entertained all through it and didn't miss a thing. I really hope Vampyre Princess 3D gets made,I love the creativity and enthusiasm put into these !!!!!

Who cares? Neither film is of any real consequence.

Both your and the OP post are so ignorant, I had to actually sit up to write a response.

First to the OP:
Cameron wrote the script and had been working on it since 1994. He designed and built a virtual camera system to make the film a reality. Not to mention, you have even seen the entire film yet you make such an outrageous comment. There's many, many filmmakers out there who have the same dedication to their projects. Just because they offer it online for free, doesn't mean it's better than other movies.

Now to the second poster:
Your post is even more idiotic than the posters. Avatar is changing the way people see movies.

I found Avatar bland, but you cannot ignore the facts just because you want to.

Good thing you backed up your lengthy statement with facts and resources like I do.

Thanks for the really good answer.

No worries, the internet tends to bring out less than friendly interactions sometimes. Kind of makes me sad to see just how badly we treat each other.
Christmas Carol was very entertaining. I enjoyed it much more than Avatar.

Avatar was utter *beep* Sure, it made a big splash with addle-brained post-millennial kids who've grown up on a diet of such banal crap. But, it won't have any lasting impact. By the way, that absurd "changing the way people see movies" line almost made me spit out my coffee. That was funny stuff.

It's not exactly a difficult thing, being better than Avatar - what I class as the most overrated film in history.

For a later post
"Cameron wrote the script and had been working on it since 1994"

You know this isn't something to go in the films favor? Avatar had an utterly terrible screenplay. The story was a complete rip-off of Dances with Wolves, Pocahontas and more.
You could say that Last Samurai came after the initial writing of the screenplay but Cameron had many many years to even make slight changes to improve the film, not having it be incredibly mediocre with, admittedly, brilliant special effects.

I will concede that avatar is changing the way people see movies.
Normal viewers can now see how brilliant effects can be and that 3D can actually be good.
Critics and more, I hesitate to say the word educated but can't think of another word, viewers can now see that films can get away with a mediocre at best script as long as they put a lot of shiny stuff to placate the magpies that are the normal viewers. Avatar isn't changing cinema for the better, and honestly I think people will have forgot about it within the next few years or recognize it for what it is.
Which is fine If you're into that sort of thing I suppose, but you yourself have said you find Avatar bland so I guess you notice that.

The OP went over the top though. The acting was pretty shoddy for the most part in this film. Granted, I didn't expect Spacey or Pacino-esque performances but I couldn't stand such as the Governor. Mala Ghedia who played Naina was bland also. Hell - the only two performances I could say I actually liked were Robert Lyons and Erik Hanson, and Erik Hanson mainly because when I squinted a bit I could use my imagination and channel a bit of Kristofferson into the role (though in all fairness Hanson wasn't bad)
