How can we bring this show back?

Hello friends,
This was an amazing show. It was the best show of 2010-2011. It deserved Emmys and Golden Globes and a host of other awards. But, thanks to Gov. Rick Snyder and ABC, this gem was cancelled. So, how do we bring it back? There's always petitions and letters, but that hasn't worked so far? Measures are being taken to impeach Snyder (of Michigan), but that is a slow-going process that may not end well. So, how can we get FX, TNT, HBO and/or Showtime's attention? Ideas?

We tried. On facebook, the page "Keep Detroit 1-8-7 on ABC" has over 10,000 likes. Most pages about not cancelling shows have about 100 likes. 100 tops. We can try to continue the petition. I sent emails to TNT every day but I think it's done. It's too bad. This show would have been perfect on TNT and more shows should be set in Detroit, especially cop shows.

Problem is, TNT already picked up "Southland" from NBC when THOSE nitwits cancelled THAT show. I loved "Deroit 187" and I love "Southland"...have not heard if it will be back on TNT for another season or not. Rumor keeps circulating about CBS cancelling "Blue Bloods" but haven't heard a definite on that one yet.

If TNT were going to save every great show that the NBC cancelled after one season (or less), they'd have their hands full! They would also never have to develop any show concepts of their own again. Just saying. Other networks make bad decisions too, but usually you can at least follow their reasoning somewhat (I don't remember what the case against Detroit 1-8-7 was). But NBC is hands down the king of cancelling critically applauded shows with great audience ratings.

Sadly, the longer it takes, the lower the possibility of resurrecting a show even if another channel would be interested. It's been a year for Detroit 1-8-7. The writers, producers and actors have taken jobs for different shows. It would be very hard, if not impossible, to get more than a few of them to come back at the same time. If another production were to pick up, they would have to do this almost as production stopped.

There are exceptions -- I never would have thought that Arrested Development would make it back, for example -- but it's probably safe to assume this is a done deal. The inspired writers, the talented cast, and last but not least the Michigan film industry, would have deserved this show though, no question about that.
