A reasonably fair treatment of cheating (Spoilers)

Unlike most other films that deal with cheating, at least this one puts the act in its proper perspective. When the husband asks his wife why she cheated, she said it's because she's immoral. Most other films use one excuse or another. Not this one. And for that, it earned my respect.

I agree 100% with you on that, at least they treated it honestly. The irony I think of this movie is that in that society it is common place and even acceptable for husbands to have mistresses, but wives not so much. There seems to be a double standard there whereas in the US, there's not that much difference between men and women and who is most likely to cheat. We're equal opportunity cheaters here.

My Tae Kwon Do instructor tells me I'm just two moves away from becoming quite threatening!

Excellent point(s).

It's no different. She just decides to take the blame for her infidelity rather than blaming her husband's inattentiveness but the cause is still the same. She's not getting sex from him so she gets it from somewhere else. Yes it's still immoral but it's obvious the director wanted to convey that she was left alone night after night by an inattentive husband who hadn't made love to her in some time. Her built-up desire led her astray. There'd be less sympathy if hubby was coming home every night and having (or attempting to have) sex with her regularly.
