This is my favorite because it shows that Christmas isn't just about presents and Christmas parties. It's about helping people in need at Christmas. It also shows family and love.

shareHallmark really scored with this one and a few others. This movie has sort of a depressing vibe through much of it but it pulls me in every time. It mirrors real life I guess. Martha's life wasn't easy and she was struggling through most the film. I normally love Christmas movies with the whole brightly lit, sugary sweet Christmasy feel - The Santa Clause for example. This one had none of that save for Mel's hand drawn Christmas tree with bottle cap decorations on the wall of the low rent motel - which was perfect for this film. This movie, like so many of the Hallmark movies, had the Hallmark standard story line "Will she find a man in time for Christmas?" but wrapped it in an otherwise nice story with great actors and lovable characters.
shareThis is the first year I've watched a Hallmark Christmas movie. I really enjoyed this film and will watch it each year here on out. It really is sweet and has significant meaning.
