No, for the most part it is so much better than Claire. The convention on having Tyler do his bit in between the love story distracted more than it added, but the story was true and good.

Then again I loved Trisha Todd in Claire and wished that we all would have seen more of her in the years to follow-lucky for the high school kids in Portland Oregon.

This is a beautiful movie, the husband role was a bit lost despite being played by the most prolific actor in the film, so he too was a weak spot. There can be no denying the chemistry and the measured way that the two women come to together. It was painful in its potential for tragedy. It was heartbreaking in its honesty. And yet it was fulfillment of all our romantic yearnings.

Take out Tyler's pieces and tighten up Barry this would be a 7, with them it is only a 5, a 5 that doesn't tell the whole story.
