Ok buddy.....agree with u that aam junta loves akki......thats why his sooo baddd movies are doing ok ok business......but every thing has a specific saturation point and i think now that point has arrived for akki movies.......i am a big fan of him but i will never go to watch his movie on first day,now i will only go to watch his movie after it will recieve a good word of mouth....akki worked really hard to set standards and become superstar but now he is not doing any good to him by doing these type of movies......
janta loves akki but janta is not stupid.....and akki should know this before it gets too late.....

Check the news out - "Housefull grossed around 4 crore nett on Tuesday which takes its five day total to over 40 crore nett. The week is now heading for a 47 crore nett total.The first week share will finish around 26 crore mark and we could be looking at a 40 crore lifetime distributor share which would put it eighth on the all time list after Three Idiots, Ghajini, Gadar, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dhoom 2 and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi."

blue also got amongst the best opening movies...still turned out to be a flop in the end (didnt recovered the costs) ,ditto for Kambakht Ishq, had a great start but bombed in the second week .....de dana dan also turned out to be an average or u can say abv average affair....nd i dnt wana comment on CCTC nd tasveer.....

nd a true movie lover will understand the class of these movies..
.how many non sense movies like these will he do..??

..amongst these movie the biggest flop was tasveer...which was a better movie ....
so if housefull has done a record breaking bussines it doesnt change the fact that its still an utter rubbish crap....the 2 months break of the cinema due to IPL is the big factor in the so much solid start of the movie.....

i repeat again... blue got one of the best start ever in the first week nd then fell so drastically that it cudnt recover its cost...
housefull, due to its less costs will attain a hit status, yes....

but dont comment GOD BLESS YOU type slogans just coz a movie`s got a great first week ...u wud have regreted if the movies had been KI nd bLue

lol and in between t20 excluding the holidays HF has done awesome, biggest ever for a non holiday collection, point to note is 3I and ghajni released on holidays, MNIK fizzled out domestically despite the paid reviews.

there is a difference between t20 goin on in west indies nd an Ipl going on in india...as its gonna attract the whole aam junta to the stadium nd den when a new big movie releases after the ipl season....nd dat too starring akshay,its obvious for such an overwhelming response..

and MNIK never fizzled out domestically where in the world are u living ?algeria or something?

its just dat its overseas collections were way stronger than the domestic collections...it was a safe hit in india nd amongst biggest hit abroad...nd even fox studios got their 100 crores worth....

according to Komal nahata it was one of the biggest loosers due to high price and fox was caught out lying and name me one actor who has 6 releases and has opening over 100%, HF opening huge is nothing new here, the only new thing is the gap between akki's last film and HF has been near 7 months which wasn't the case last year.

one cant lie to facts my brother...and that ur talking about one of the biggest production house in the world Fox, nd not some shri ashtivinayak co.....
its all in the main box office related sites in india about the collections both indian nd overseas...it was declared a hit in the end in india nd a super hit overseas coz of srk`s market over there nd dats y fox recoverd its cost due to the overseas market....

ur talking abt high pricing then talk about blue...about 45-50 crores in the first week still turned out to be a flop...nd about mnik i give a damn what it earned nd wat it didnt.......

are u having a failure or sumthing at mathematics.??.....can any movie get a opening of over 100 %???

90 percent opening of a movie of a big star these days is no big deal....the real star is who can carry the movie after the first week...
sadly akshay has done the former part in almost every of his last 4 movies but he loosing on the latter part i.e maintaining the run in the second week also...

thats y blue flopped nd KI nd de dana dan had done avg nd abv average bussiness respectively despite great opening....

though houseful has recoverd more than its cost in the first week itself..
.now even if the movie fails drastically then also it will be considerd hit considering the budget is 40-45 crores..
.nd to attain a blockbuster status it has to earn more than 100 crores...

all we non biased movie lovers need is a gud sensible movie from akki ..hope tees maar khan is that type of a movie....nd regarding its box office opening its obvious it will take a great start too....but i hope its a good movie nd not a paisa waste....

there is a differnce between a sensible comedy and a brainless comedy...
the previous movies of akshay like garam masala ,singh is king even phir hera pheri were good comedies as they had their heart at right place nd make u laugh.......

Before posting another comment dude please have a look at the rating of this movie on the very same site,which u r visiting at moment....that will tell u how sensible or good movie this is because that rating is not given by a single person like u and me but its overall response.....it may have earned 50 odd crores but buddy mind it housefull comes in same league as his previous movies like de dana dan,kambkt ishq,tasveer,blue,chandni chowk,tashan. Only a insane person can call these movies hit or sensible so please get ur facts right.....don't declare a movie hit or flop looking at its box office collection....people don't even want to watch these movies on movies channel....dude herapheri didn't did well on box office but people still love that movie after 10 years so this is hit movie and believe me people don't even want to talk about these foolish movies leave watching them again,so don't just declare a movie success by its box office collection........

have you ever heard of physical comedy??? such scenes are always in mr bean comedy, or rowan atkinson, jim carrey films, why dont you go and pick on them. Hera pheri was above average success thearetically, how didn't it do well?? even Mr and mrs khiladi which was average thearetically but a big superhit in home video and sattelite..

anyway i agree i'm a bit bored with akki doing too many comedy and i miss the old akki, hopefully katha meetha is a satire based film so hopefully it works well for you.

why r u just considering only revenues,these movies are only earning in opening days because of good marketing and thats the only good thing about these movies.....makers like sajid khan only make movies to make money,this is there first and last motive and they damn care about there audiences and the quality of cinema and people like u just declaring these movies hit by seeing there collection in opening weekend are encouraging them to make these foolish movies again and again......akshay has done very decent movies in past so lot is expected from him but all his recent movies are utter crap,it doesn't matter they have earned a decent money........

Couldn't bear watching the full thing. My friend and I went to the hall to watch this cr@p because we missed Date Night by 10 minutes. And 10 minutes into this movie, we knew we had wasted our money.
Got out during interval. Never bothered watching the full thing. Never will.

The funny thing was that everyone around us seemed to find it the most hilarious movie there ever was. Laughing heartily at the lamest 'jokes' (if you can call them that). That stupid monkey thing, the equally stupid vacuum thing. The even more stupid songs, the hamming of 'loser loser' and the baaaddd acting.
About half an hour into it, we were hardly even watching. In fact, out of spite, we started to laugh at the non-funny moments, like regular dialogue. That was fun.

This is by far the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life. I would readily watch Hey Baby and Tashan again.

1. I really feel sorry for the dudes who liked this piece of bull. No offense, I mean I Know you're entitled to an opinion, but I'm just sorry.
2. Don't tell me, 'don't like, don't watch...coz that's exactly what I'm doing. Except that i'm also saving other poor souls by putting it here.
3. To Akshay Kumar fans: Even I like him. Because of movies like Khiladi, Sainik, Yeh Dillagi, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Dhadkan etc. but I just won't support this movie or any other pathetic one because of my ardent admiration for one of the cast. Nuff said.

All the talk about big collections & revenue is BS. I've actually seen Chandni Chowk To China & also this film Housefull running to almost empty theatres in Mumbai but still not pulled off screens just so that the makers can claim it to be a hit.

As far as I can recall every tv show was praising the movie of being a laugh riot. The only negative reviews the movie was getting was from the internet. I think his movies receive big revenue in the first 2 weeks, after that the movies bomb. This is why he maybe getting paid huge figures. I don't why this is happening.

hysteria, the max a film can run for is 2 weeks as there are so many other films releasing each week which takes screen space away, btw HF is a certified Hit at the BO, biggest profit making hindi film of 2010.

you talk in a way as if your an expert guru on Box Office, the film might had bad reviews from the psuedo intellectual, but the paying public enjoyed it, hence its the biggest hit so far of 2010. Intelligent film is good but not always as not everyone has the brain to understand, this was made so kids, poor labourers, could enjoy a film that they like watching.

I understand your perpective. You do have a point. So the movie sustained at the theatres because it was still selling ticket sales like fast pizzas. However many movies have stayed on for so long such as DDLJ.

But the fact that the movie may be critisised heavily has not prevented the non brainers from making the movie a hit. It is clearly aimed at the retards.

But slapstick movies can be successful too.

Many people have responded negativley to "houseful" due to lifting of many scenes from Hollywood movies. Those that are fans of real comedy movies have noticed this. However I am not against non-intellectual movies. They should continue to be made as well intellectual stuff. It's good to have variety in cinema.

Sure, there will be references of other movies. But the story isn't copying any other movie I've seen..and i've watched lots of movies, from classic to modern, comedy to horror! There's so many movies made today and from before that movies will share some of the same ideas-naturally!
