What Was Sajid Thinking???

With Sajid Khan promising to the world at large that HouseFull will be grossing more than Ghajni did, I had to watch this movie! And it was one of the most disappointing movies ever! Is Sajid suffering from some kind of a complex? Why is he putting his foot in his mouth - and making idiotic claims? Well you may ask what's wrong with the movie? Here let me tell you -

1. The opening sequence - the incidents leading to where Akshay was punched by Arjun Rampal was meant to be hilarious? Believe me I was sitting in a theater that was 70% full, I could not here one snicker leave alone laughter - it was embarrassingly ridiculous especially if it was meant to be funny!
2. The vacuum cleaner incident. I guess it was trying to capture the essence of Mr Bean's antics - but there again - not funny at all - not just for me - but for the entire audience in the theater. And this scene went on and on and on....It only made me cringe and more!
3. Now Lara Dutta in an interview on TV claimed that she has been told by many (Who??)that she has a very good comic timing to quote her - she is the next refreshing slapstick comedian after Sridevi in the Hindi film industry! Sorry to disappoint you Lara - you are nowhere in Sridevi's league. Your facial antics (especially in tiger scene) did not do anything to compliment your looks nor was it funny - You are beautiful, but I do wish Sajid had not brought out the worst in you which I am afraid he had.
4. I wonder what's with the monkey slapping scene! I mean if was just a couple of slaps exchanged between Akshay and the monkey it was funny - I did hear people laugh there and so did I, but then again - the slapping went on and on...the laughter and fun there petered out after three slaps exchanged.
5. The situation comedy after the interval was good and I thought I had been harsh to judge the movie earlier on. But then again I can only say that there was about 45 minutes of laughter in the entire movie - it was not a laughter riot but just funny situations that did provoke laughter - which I am afraid is the only redeeming feature of the film.
6. The climax sequence about the laughing gas - What was Sajid thinking?!!!!

How on the earth can you expect thinking from a man with pea size brain

Disappointed in the movie. With the talent onboard a much better movie should have been possible. This is be marked down as a misfire and embarrassment for all involved.

this movie had potential. an able cast, big budget etc but the director lost it halfway to nowhere and the climax was an absolute downer. a 5/10 in my opinion.

In the climax scene, I find it funny when they talk in hindi and the English gather all around them and clap after certain dialogues as if they are understanding everything and are perfectly fine with a Indian soap drama interrupting a medal congregation by their Queen. The movies require a fackTON of suspension of disbelief to enjoy, lol.

Absolutely agree with @batman_begins. You made a huge mistake of expecting something gr8 out a pea sized brain of Sajid. Its horribly scary that you went to watch this one in theatre !

I think it was amusing how Akshay fell in headfirst into a cement mixer, and Lara fell through a glass window into a trash bin two floors down...yet both were unscratched
