I love the period and I'll watch anything about the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's. So long as the costumes, lighting and sets are period accurate, I would watch a film about paint dry from those decades.

I can hardly wait for this film and I hope it will be the next Millers Crossing or Road To Perdition.

Hell yeah those were good films. Btw the cinematography in these films really do matter because they really highlight the look of the period like you said, plus it can really focus on the grittiness of the time. Of course, without good story and good acting, it would just be pretty images.
