One of the finest films in recent memory, an auteur extravaganza!!!

Surely this film must be Álex de la Iglesia's one film he had to do before he died, his labor of love... It's such a beautiful and tragic fable with loving nods to Fellini and Jodorowsky, and I also loved that I got to learn a little bit about Spanish history and the civil war. Thank you Álex, it's just gorgeous and it's one of my favorite films of all time. You nailed it. Don't listen to the haters. The creator knows full-well whether he got close to perfection or missed the mark, and I'm certain you love this film with all your heart.
