Alexandra Daddario offered to go fully topless for the "tied-up scene"?

I haven't watched the special features in a long time, and haven't listened to the commentaries, so I don't know for sure if it's true. She stripped down in TRUE DETECTIVE, so I'd say it's possible she was willing.

Maybe the film-makers thought her breasts being out when Leatherface shows up and notices her scar, it would have been a little weird because they're cousins or technically he's her uncle. I don't think the film ever got that straight. Just another example of either bad writing or uncomfortable incest winking.

Even if it didn't make sense, how could anyone not be fine with that?

Two or three years ago, I came across a podcast interview where she and the hosts were making fun of that scene and nudity contracts in general, but I don't recall her stating that she would have actually gone topless. Maybe she did, but I somehow blocked out that tidbit?

Maybe one of the producers or director mentioned it in the documentary or audio commentary?

Another story I've heard: If she were topless during that scene, they'd get slapped with an NC-17. Who knows if that's true.

Can't blame her. Everyone has different levels of comfort when it comes to such things. But if she did, I can see her logic. Young and beautiful and at physical prime, the lead in a new horror movie. If you're not camera-shy, why not showcase yourself? And whether for good or bad, it would've made the scene more iconic.

Stories like this horrify me.

Kathleen Kinmount has done several nude scenes and she was at her bra busting biggest in Halloween 4 but they never showed any nudity. She would have been game I'm sure, the decision was supposedly from a producer to not show it.

I recall there is a similar story about Scarlett Johansson in a Michael Bay film, she was game and he said nah.

TCM as a franchise has a conspicuous lack of nudity, a peak Daddario nude scene would have took this film up several levels. Salvaged it. Made it worth revisiting.
