Is this better or worse than the (2003) and (2006) counterparts?

Personally it might be my least favorite of the series, if mainly because the script felt like such a waste of potential. There are some good ideas in it, though. It's not as gritty and violent as those two previous entries if that makes any difference to you.

Worse. Way worse, IMO. It's just so dumb. Smart phones in a movie set in (what I took to be, based on the film's timeline) the mid 1990s. The main character's age not being consistent with the film's timeline (we're talking about some major oversights by the writers with these first couple of examples). Character's behaving in the stupidest possible manner (admittedly, nothing new for horror movies, but this one is really pushing it). I didn't care for the way Leatherface is portrayed is some (well, most) of his scenes. And some of the dialogue is pretty lame, especially a line near the end delivered by the lead actress. I have no doubt that if you hear it, you'll know exactly which line I'm referring to, it's just that bad.

I don't know how you felt about the remake and its sequel/prequel, but maybe if you set your expectations really low, you might get some enjoyment out of TC3D. I don't know, though. The original TCM is my second favorite movie, so I was intrigued by TC3D, but after all the lackluster sequels (excepting Part 2, love that one), I knew better than to get too hyped up for it, and I still walked out of the theater like, "Holy mackerel, that sucked."

I consider this the worst of the franchise. It's even worse than TCM: Next Generation. Horrid acting, characters, dialogue, plot holes ect... Say what you want about the remake series, but at least they were well made.

I think TCM 2003 is genuinely good for what it is.

It's super terrible and dumb, but there is some entertainment value to be had if you like *beep* horror movies. The 2003 remake is better. The abysmal 2006 prequel is worse, but they each fail in different ways. At least the dumb ending of the prequel was totally expected. The dumb ending of TC3D is unfathomably idiotic. It's one the most ridiculous things I've ever seen.

It's leagues below the 2003 & 2006 films, but those are some of the finest Horror films ever made.

This one is fun enough. An entertaining film but it's far tamer and goofier than those platinum dunes films.
