Thought this one was actually quite good, not even close to as good as the original but this TCM is my second favourite so far, still haven't seen The Beginning and New Gen. And the lingering shots of leatherface in this were really good, it had tension and gore, good story I thought and better camera work than expected. I know I'm in the minority but this movie isn't as bad as some say it is.

I really didn't like Texas Chainsaw when I first watched it nearly 2 years ago and after just watching it again very recently I really hated it for so many reasons. It was absolutely terrible.
The entire plot is unforgivably bad. The characters are all horrendous.
Where to even start? The extra family members at the beginning. The main character should be in her 40s but looks 22. Her friends may be some of THE worst characters in horror movie history. Some of the dialogue is worse than any dialogue I've ever heard in a horror movie.
Everything was already going so poorly for the first half of the movie but once the movie turns Leatherface into an anti-hero and our protagonist just decides out of the fvcking blue that she's going to embrace "who she is" is where it instantly becomes unforgivably stupid and hilariously awful.
The same writer responsible for Jason Goes To Hell (and nothing else of note) unsurprisingly gives is this soggy $hit sandwich.
I'll concede that some of the chase scenes and kills were well executed but they're in the midst of such an atrocious movie that it's hard to enjoy those scenes.
I'm absolutely shocked that there's a thread on this board where people are expressing their enjoyment of this movie. This HAS to be the only TCM movie they've seen to seriously think this was a good movie. Even Next Generation which was pretty awful was a much better TCM movie than this.
I really hope this doesn't get a sequel. The Platinum Dunes movies were so much better. May as well continue from after the events of the 2003 movie or just reboot the franchise yet again.
Next movie will be an origin story simply called Leatherface.

shareThis post is absolute proof that everybody has different tastes. The original, the remake and the beginning were easily the best movies in the series in my opinion. This movie was the absolute worst. Im not even gonna waste my time or yours describing everything I hated about it, it would take too long.

I wouldn't say it was as good as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 or the remake but it was better than The Beginning and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 and I liked the ending.
