A gripping yarn, but....

While very mesmerizing there is some controversy.

This was a major Red Bull promotion and they apparently took some liberties in postproduction and marketing. It was marketed as the first ski descent, but that happened in 2000. The goal was the first descent to the sea, and splitting it up made that record a little problematic. The very calm and lucid radio conversations during a very extreme descent seem time-shifted if not totally dubbed in postproduction, etc.

Still, I was expecting the end titles to roll when the rescued climbers were saying goodbye at the lodge. I was stunned when they didn't and several climbers came back for another go a few weeks later.
