Why on earth would an atheist care about what the universe wants?

I think this was the point Douglas Wilson made that befuddled me the most, and which proves that religious people and atheists essentially live in two different worlds. The universe is just a bunch of (anti)matter with some pretty looking atmospheres, why would we look for it in regard to morality. It's exactly the same as saying "Why would you condemn murder when stones don't care".
