They lost any sense of making a new creative thing there in Hollywood.

It'd be nice if everyone saw the movie 1st then conclude if it's rubbish or not...me included!!!

reply

Just watched it, and it was pretty good. I would say 6.7

I saw it too and I agree with this your assessment.

It had gore
It had Zane
It had Beckett Sr alive at the end
It had some good sniper scenes

The new guy wasn't bad, he's an ok actor. Romance scene was out of place, no chemistry. Made for TV movie/DTV movie quality level. A bit too much shakycam at points.

Worth watching, but I've got to say, I caught the Eagle too and was drawn into that film much quicker than Sniper Reloaded.

It had gore, Zane, some good sniper scenes, shakycam like most modern war pics, yeah. Especially the first combat scene with all the panick seemed pretty good.

But it also had a ridicules and no sense plot, and zero acting, apart from mr. Zane. He surely lifted the film up a bit. Collins did just allright, but I doubt this will be his breakthrough, if ever.

It's also a bit disappointing we had to wait for half an hour before Zane enters, and his part in total is not very big. From the dvd cover it looks like he would have a much bigger part.

The first Sniper had good acting and that great, quiet atmosphere.
I never saw 2 or 3, but from what I read this fourth one must be a lot better.
Overall ok, but don't expect too much. Hardcore fans will love it though.

Parts 2 and 3 are very decent DTV productions. I would recommend to get the dvds if they are available cheaply. I paid around 6€ for the used dvd of the second one a couple of years ago and 10€ for the third around 2004-2005. That being a huge fan of the first movie.
If you aren't a fan of the first movie or sniper movies in general try to catch the sequels on tv or rent them if you are still interested of the reboot.

The second movie is decent even though it suffers from the some plot and dubbing issues. Becket's partner for his mission in ex-Yugoslavia is a black guy - very subtle -.-' Another problem is German dubbing giving the native actors totally forced and ridiculous accents. Aside from that the action is solid and the movie uses some of the soundtrack from the first movie.

The 3rd movie focuses a lot more on Beckett's aging character. It has a pretty melancholic feel to it, has somewhat little action but looks more polished than the second part, has some great flashbacks of the young Beckett in Vietnam and the final action scenes are also great.

As I already said if you are a fan of the first movie or the reboot, you most likely will enjoy the sequels.

You're entitled to your opinion.

When exactly are we supposed to see Beckett senior at the end ?

The fat actor playing Major Hellgood is supposed to be an overweight Tom Berenger being Beckett undercover with his son in front of him not recognizing him ?

Billy Zane with his a wounded arm is supposed to be the reincarnation of Beckett Snr ?

What kind of non sense is that ? Are you myopic or did you wish it so hard you managed to see on screen what wasn't there ?

reply

No doubt. As if they couldn't have made up a different film about a Sniper? Like the movie had to be a sequel right?

*beep*

Movie was retarded guys had no sense of real soldiering..Your gonna watch half your squad get killed by snipers then just run out into a open field towards the sniper lol..then stop in the middle of the open field and stand there so you can get shot and fall in a ditch movie is retarded
