Customer and undercooked duck
I did not appreciate that scene. Man, imagine making a complaint about food at a restaurant and having your concern treated in this manner. OMG. My home stove and recipe books are looking mighty pretty right now.

shareLuckily not too many chefs working are currently dealing with their wife/partner dying. So you should be right if you eat out and the food isn't what you want. Just to be safe, ask the waiter if the chef is dealing with an insanely huge personal problem before sitting down to order.
shareLOL

The chef is always right and your just a custommer eating utter crap most days of your live.
It is easy, when you need help with your taxes because you trow around a ball for a living your not gonna whine about the formulas your taxman does his work with.Like your taxman doesnt not give you tips about a curbball.
So do not think your smatter then a chef, maybe you dont like his food that is taste but keep your mouth shut about how undercooked something is or not is.Thats just crap and the creative freedom of a chef.He serves you what he thinks he should serve you.Otherwise just go Kfc and know upfront what to expect.
"The Chef is always right"
are you a complete idiot?? you must work at one of the restaurants that Chef Ramsey will be visiting soon on Kitchen Nightmares.
If you ask for meat to be prepared at a certain temp and it is too
done or underdone, then you have every right to send it back.
We are not talking about saying something doesn't taste good,
this is meat temp 101.
get your head out of your arse

Never send back food.
Yup, it ain't worth it. Don't do it!
You guys are out of your minds. I have worked at half a dozen Places as a cook.
Granted they were all chain type places like Long Horn and Perkins, but food is food.
Point is out of all the time I worked there, I have never seen anybody do anything
bad to a returned meal. If we mess up, even if we did it right but they didn't like
it, we simply make it again, or like a the steak house, we might put the steak back
on the grill an cook some more. I have had people tell me that crap about not sending
food back and it's an urban legend or whatever.
I agree, there was no excuse for him to be so rude and nasty to the customer. The guy seemed like a real jerk
shareUnfortunately there are some chefs out there who will only cook food a certain way and I can imagine someone like Gordon Ramsay having a similar reaction... Plus he is obviously going though a really stressful time. I can see that happening but I'm not sure that the other people would have allowed the second duck to go out having been flushed in a toilet.. Even if they were scared of him, someone surely would have said something cause that could have given them all kinds of awful food poisoning!!

I would not be surprised at a chef doing this to food sent back. Chefs are bastardos. My cousin is a chef, albeit he's new to the field just graducated from CIA in NY, he has tales to tell about chefs and some of them are very scary.

Chefs are, in general, a bunch of primadonna hotheads. My guess is that they came to the realization too late in the game that they chose a career where they would be slaving over a hot stove night, after night, after night.
