I don't get the dislike with this movie

I don't understand why a number of people didn't like Tom, said he was an a**hole etc and you didn't like him at all. I really felt for him. He had merely hit the self destruct button on his life after losing his wife to cancer. Everyone reacts differently to grief and there is no right or wrong. I did think that Matthew Goode was superb in this movie. His raw emotion at losing his wife was touching. He has my vote for best actor although I could have done without the initial scene of him masterbating. Lol

I agree. I can see why people call him an *beep* I thought it at first too until you learn why then I sympathized with him and understood. I think maybe people givr it a low rating due to the narrative stricture or the fact the pacing is definitely a bit slow. I did like it quite a bit and it deserves a higher rating.

I like the non-linear narrative - this movie doesn't spoon feed you like most hollywood stuff. You have to work it out and I like that. It's a tough subject but I think you really get close to what it must be like for Tom - superb acting.
