I don't know if it is because of the trend of all the redneck/hick based reality garbage on TV these days or what but the original narrator was way better. This new guy and his good ol' boy narration style is killing it for me. I like the show a lot so I hope he gets replaced. But it's just my opinion.
shareHoly crap, the new guy is horrible! I thought Sam Elliot was gonna pop-up and ask me if I wanted to eat beef while driving a RAM! Not to mention my favorite segments are the POE checkpoints which they only had one at the end of the show.
shareI sure hope he doesn't stay on as a permanent replacement. Nothing against the guy personally but I just cant get into the gool 'ol boy Dukes Of Hazzard style narration. It takes me right out of it. I still love the show just not the narrator. ATTN NATGEO PLEASE PLEASE WITH BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY SPRINKLES ON TOP PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL NARRATOR HE WAS EXCELLENT!!!

Not only does he sucks but he also seems to only state the obvious about most scenes and give less background information about what is going on. With this narrator it seems almost as if the show is some kind of intro or briefing in a computer game, specially in scenes like the drug dealer bust that they did on that guy on the gas station where they at start show the "positions" of the officers.
I know that people already complained about the previous seasons on how the show was edited and some things seemed faked or acted after the fact for the cameras, but the whole editing and post-production in this season seems to be 100% "reality-showy". It seems more like Shipping Wars or Kitchen Nightmares than a serialized documentary. If they don't change the narrator maybe they could at least do like Cops by not having a narrator at all.

This. It totally feels like one of those lame A&E reality shows now. The show has gone downhill. The original format and narrator were just fine. Why the hell would Nat-Geo feel compelled to change things?
