I dont just want to see people get killed

Most horror Movies today to me seem like just a bunch of scene of people being murdered, non sensical to no plot, no atmosphere( music, camera angles, setting, etc.) no meaningful dialogue.I remember my first horror film Jeepers Creepers (i was born in '93) was so terifying that throughtout the entire movie i was hiding behind my father, and while Jeepers Creepers may not be the best it was at least genuine horror. Movies nowadays have become so boring and predictable (because all they ever do is kill someone) all i do is slightly brace myself when its bout that time for someone to die. Director need to learn that showing someone being scared is not the same as scaring someone (the viewer), but when you can make movies cheaply and potenially hundreds of millions of dollars i guess the studio that can get them out the fastest will be the most profitable, and for the studios thats all that matters.

Couldn't agree more. It's a real shame.

It's not just movies today though. There has long been a branch of horror films that are just about showing people being killed. Go back and look at some of the Herschell Gordon Lewis movies... they're just splatter for the sake of splatter.
One thing that has changed is that modern movies, even the crappy ones, often look so good it's hard to tell beforehand.
It usually comes down to the writing. Writing is hard and good writing is harder... and costs more. So many movies I've seen look great, have decent acting... but the story is just plain suck. Predictable cliches with no real point to them.
