No chemistry, self-indulgent scenes of kids being goofy

The first half hour is pretty much all self-indulgent scenes of the actors just hanging out, being goofy. We see them hanging out playing cards. We see them hanging out in bed. We see them hanging out drinking. We see them hanging out playing XBox. There's only a couple glimpses of a little girl ghost amongst these, and one short conversation about a tragedy that happened in the house. Other than that they talk about their relationships, people we've never seen, and making jokes. Why some of these indie filmmakers go overboard with scenes showing off how cool, funny, laid-back and silly their friends are, I don't know. It's only interesting to the filmmakers and comes across as very self-indulgent. Maybe they think they can pull it off like Kevin Smith did.

They finally start to stop just hanging out, and the actual story gets started, about 35 minutes in. And it's only 77 minutes long. By that time, we just don't care. At least the girls are all easy on the eyes, so we have very cute scenery to look at amidst all this.. hanging out.
